Lake of the Woods is my thirty-fourth permanent residence. I guess I’ll always consider myself a “new kid”. That may have evolved to being a good thing, if I can continue to paint with fresh eyes.
As a mostly single mom, practicality led to a long term career in government policy and information technology. In parallel and for my sanity, I took classes with nationally recognized artists, including Aline Feldman, Japanese style woodcut print maker; Susan Abbott, watercolorist, and Zdzislaw Sikora, stone lithographer and etcher.
My hand-pulled prints have been juried into Strathmore Hall in Maryland; oil paintings and watercolors were shown at The Art Warehouse in Luray, Virginia, and acrylic paintings have been accepted in multiple shows at the Burwell Mill in Millwood, VA. From 2015 through 2018, I was represented by Art First Gallery in Fredericksburg, Virginia. There, my solo show featured imaginary commuters and travelers. Currently I exhibit with members of the Fredericksburg Plein Air group at Canal Quarter Arts Gallery, am a guest artist at Middle Street Gallery in Washington, VA, and sketch with the Urban Sketchers of Fredericksburg.
