It's hard to keep up with Catherine Hillis' many awards won and exhibits ongoing. But you can see her artwork and learn more about her activities on her wonderful website. Here's a good book to pick up to learn more about the value of artmaking to you health and wellbeing - "Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us" by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross. LOW Arts photographer Buck Best reports that he is mentioned in this book....we can't wait to read it!
A talented artist who was beautiful inside and out.
Sigrid was organized, tenacious, and always gave 110% to everything she did. And she did it with grace and humor.
She will be remembered for her vibrant art, her caring nature, that mischievous twinkle in her eyes, and all she did for us in the Lake of the Woods Arts community. She will be remembered fondly by everyone who knew her as an artist and friend. Her obituary can be read here.
She will be missed beyond words.
Spend some time with our artists as they introduce you to their art and their studios here at Lake of the Woods. Each segment is 3-5 minutes in length. Scroll to see the artists and click on any image to view the video. We also have videos of our Artist Spotlight presentations on our YouTube channel here - enjoy!
