Plan Your Tour
This is the inaugural studio tour for LOW Arts and we hope you'll make a day of it and visit our studios around Lake of the Woods. You can visit any or all of the studios and in any order you would like -- in fact, best to mix it up so that everyone doesn't show up at Studio #1 at the same time! They are numbered, but that's just for reference as you tour. A map of the locations is linked below to download for your quick reference as you drive around the lake.
Artwork for Sale
Most of our artists - there are 13 artists in 12 studios - will have artwork for sale and the accepted forms of payment are on each listing. If there is no reference to artwork for sale then that artist is just exhibiting and demonstrating their artform, not selling their work.
Parking and Accessibility
We've provided information about parking and accessibility on each studio listing so you know what to expect when you arrive at the studio. Most are home studios, some studios are on lower or upper levels, so take note of the stairs if that might be an issue for you. If you pull up and see a studio that looks busy, skip to the next one and then check back a little later.
Rain Date
We do have a rain date of Sunday, April 21 from 1-5pm. Please check this webpage for updates if the weather is inclement. We will also send an email to our patron email list if there is a weather postponement.

Studio access:
Park in the driveway or on the cul-de-sac. Studio is on the lower level and is accessible down the driveway on the left side of the house.

Art Media on display:
Calligraphy using mostly pen, ink, gouache and watercolors. Hands (fonts) of various types will be shown as well as abstract and artistic interpretations.
Marilyn will be demonstrating her calligraphy and will provide visitors the opportunity to try out some calligraphy skills.
Studio access:
Park in the driveway. The studio is accessible through the front door and down 14 steps, or along a pathway on the side of the house.

Art Media on display: Multimedia, Acrylic, Oil, Cold Wax and Oil, Encaustic Wax Painting, and Egg Tempera.
Sigrid will be demonstrating encaustic wax painting for
visitors.
Studio access:
Long circular driveway with parking on the side of the driveway allows for easy in and out. There are 4 steps to the porch and 1 step into the studio.

Art Media on display:
Wood sculpture, acrylic painting, drawing with an emphasis on architectural detail.
Andrew is also an avid art collector and will have works by other artists on display.

Circular driveway for 5 vehicles - pull through. Just two steps into the house and then down 14 steps to the lower level studio.

Southwestern Turquoise Jewelry. Whimsical and Beach Jewelry. Necklaces, Earrings, Bracelets, and Rings.
Susan will be designing and assembling jewelry during the tour and will have a signup sheet for anyone interested in a jewelry-making class.

Studio is in separate building next to the house. 1 step to go inside studio. Driveway parking available. Studios 5, 6 and 7 are side-by-side.

Art Media on display:
Jewelry made from antique china, stained glass.
Visitors will see all equipment that Toni uses to create her jewelry pieces and how she designs and then cuts glass for stained glass pieces. Visitors may try using the tools to cut glass to get a feel for how it's done.
Studio access:
Parking is available at both 116 and 112 Washington Street in addition to Toni’s own driveway. Follow the path on the left side of the house down to the studio entrance. No steps.

Art Media on display:
The photography of both Jen and fellow LOW Photo Club member Michael Fogarty will be presented - both framed and matted pieces. Gel plate printing will also be shown.
Jen will be demonstrating gel plate printing and visitors can give it a try using flowers, leaves, stencils and stamps.
Studio access:
Use the driveway at the house or park in the Community Center lot by the big soccer field and come in through the yard...look for the sign and balloons. Just 2 steps to the front porch or 4 steps via the back deck entrance. No steps within the house.

Pottery - with emphasis on functional items such as bowls, mugs, cups, spoon rests.
Heather will have her wheel spinning and providing demonstrations of her technique creating her pottery. There will be pottery in various stages of drying for a hands-on activity.
Studio access:
Pull into the driveway or park on the cul-de-sac. Please don't block other driveways. Enter through the garage. No steps to the studio.

Karen will provide a behind-the-scenes peek into the magic of macro (close-up) photography.
Studio access:
There are 2 parking spaces by the garage and 2 by the shed, so drive down the hill. You may also opt to park next door at 217 Wakefield Drive and walk down the hill. Once inside there are 14 steps to the 2nd floor plus 4 steps into the studio.

BJ will be demonstrating her paper mache process in her lower level studio. Her paintings will be on display on the main level.
Studio access:
Parking in the driveway. Use the turnaround to park. There are just two steps into the house, then 14 steps to go down to her studio. She is just around the corner from the main marina if additional parking is needed.
