Patty's interest in art began when she was young, but began to blossom after taking a class at the local community college followed by workshops given by various local artists. While she paints primarily for her own enjoyment, she has shown her work at LOWVAC, local and regional shows, has sold a number of pieces, and has done several commissioned works. She has dabbled in colored pencil and pastel, but her medium of choice is watercolor. She finds keeping its transparency and freshness challenging and enjoys the many varied "happy surprises" she encounters when it chooses its own path on the paper.
Patty paints a variety of subjects, but is most interested in capturing people and animals unaware as they enjoy doing what they love most...cats sleeping and grooming...friends floating and chatting...sunbathers tanning and reading.
Patty works out of her studio at Lake of the Woods where she has a beautiful view of nature's bounty - an unending source of inspiration.
