The LOW Arts exhibit at the Fareways Cafe in the Woods Center is awaiting your visit. Stop by and take a look at the artwork created by your LOW neighbors. Most of the artwork is for sale. Check the price list linked below and contact the artist directly if interested in purchasing. The newest exhibit went up on February 18 and will be on view until June 2.
We invite you to our Artist’s Reception on Sunday June 11 from 2pm-4:30pm as we showcase a new exhibit. We have some wonderful door prizes to give away and you can enjoy live music while you take in the new artwork and meet our artists. Mark your calendar and stop in!

Christy Rappoport, Karen O'Donnell and Lisa Spencer Ballard each had pieces accepted to the LibertyTown Arts Workshop's upcoming show, "Monochromatic." The exhibit opens on June 2 with a reception during First Friday, and closes July 2. Congratulations!
Sigrid Wares just had two pieces accepted into the juried exhibit at the Crossroads Art Center in Richmond. The exhibit runs May 19-July 8. If you aren't able to visit in person, you can view the exhibit artwork online here. Sigrid also had a piece, "Mysterious Lagoon" accepted into the FCCA's All Media Show and received an Honorable Mention award. Fabulous!
Karen O'Donnell had one of her photos "Pouring Smoke" accepted into the 13th Annual Joseph Miller Abstract Photography Exhibit. You can visit the online gallery here and vote for the People's Choice award. Kudos, Karen!
Here's a good book to pick up to learn more about the value of artmaking to you health and wellbeing - "Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us" by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross. LOW Arts photographer Buck Best reports that he is mentioned in this book....we can't wait to read it!
Lisa Spencer Ballard has two pieces accepted to the FBG Center for the Creative Arts exhibit entitled "Life's Patterns" and received an Honorable Mention for her dragonfly wing painting. The exhibit will be on view in May. Well done, Lisa!
Kudos to Bill Mann who had 5 pieces accepted into the Art at the Mill Spring Show in Millwood Virginia in Clarke County. The show runs April 22-May 7th. Learn more here...and stop by!

The Artful Dimensions Gallery in Fredericksburg, dedicated to exhibiting 3-D artwork, has accepted jewelry artist Kathy Walters into their gallery. Stop in and see her wonderful creations.
The Fredericksburg Fine Arts Show featured more than 20 pieces of artwork by LOW Arts members - see the slideshow below. Congratulations to Pete Brown, BJ Elvgren, Catherine Hillis, Bill Mann, Karen O'Donnell, Elena Pratt, Denise Reese, Sigrid Wares, and Karen Weingartner for their acceptance to this exhibit. Special recognition to Catherine Hillis, who received a First Place award in the Watercolor category and Karen Weingartner who received an Honorable Mention in the Acrylics category. Several of our artists sold pieces during the show, which ran March 10-12 at the Dorothy Hart Community Center.
Kudos to Karen Weingartner who received second place honors for her painting "Summer Song" in the "Bloomcore" exhibit at Libertytown Arts Worshop. Also accepted into this juried exhibit were Karen O'Donnell, Christy Rappoport and BJ Elvgren. The exhibit will be in place for you to view through March 2023. Congratulations to all!
Christy Rappoport - Christy is becoming a regular at the Crossroads Arts Center in Richmond. Her beautiful fabric work, Fantasy in Silk, was on display in February and she has had another piece accepted for an exhibit in April. Well done, Christy!
Catherine Hillis now has a studio in the Sophia Street Studios, 2nd floor, 1104 Sophia Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. Her next class will be a four week session focusing on painting beautiful skies in watercolors and improving drawing and compositional skills. Lake of the Woods is located in Locust Grove, Virginia, halfway between Fredericksburg and Culpeper on Route 3. Our 500 acre lake is the center of this vibrant community of more than 8,000 residents, the largest population center in Orange County.
