Next up for the Artist in the Spotlight at the July LOW Arts meeting will be the first of our art history series, with a Powerpoint presentation by Lisa Spencer-Ballard and Karen Falcon.
We will be focusing on the life and times of Gustav Klimt. Who and what were his influences, what social and political events were taking place during this era, what materials did he use, who were his patrons and what movements was he involved in and why?
This presentation will be followed by a "DoArt" workshop on Thursday, July 20 from 10am-12:30pm hosted by Creative Gatherings at 827 Eastover Parkway, LOW. The workshop instructors will be Spencer-Ballard and Sigrid Wares. Here, you will create a Klimt-inspired collage and will be shown how to apply metallics and gold leafing to your work.
This workshop is open to the first 10 people to sign up. The cost is $35 and is open only to LOW Arts members. To sign up, contact Sigrid Wares at: swares@comcast.net and to pay for the class contact Joe Freeland at: joe.freeland@verizon.net.
